Who runs it
What To Do In Malta is written and run independently: no agency behind it, no editorial team, no tourism board involvement. If something on this site is wrong, you can tell us directly and it gets fixed.
Why it exists
There is an enormous amount of Malta travel content online and a surprising amount of it is recycled, out of date, or written by someone working from a stock photo library. A meaningful share of it still recommends the Azure Window, which fell into the sea in 2017.
The gap is not more listicles. It is practical detail: how long a journey actually takes when the bus is involved, which of the paid sites earn their ticket, when a famous swimming spot stops being worth the trip, and what closes on a Sunday. That is what this guide is for.
How pages are written
Every page on this site is written to the same rules, and they are not decorative:
- No invented details. Prices, opening hours and ferry times change constantly. They are either qualified and dated, or they are left out. Nothing is filled in with a plausible-sounding number to make a page look complete.
- The downsides get written down. If a well-known attraction is overcrowded, overpriced or simply not worth the journey, the guide says so, including when it is something we could earn commission on.
- Nothing outdated is left standing. Every page carries the date it was last checked, and gets rechecked rather than quietly aging.
- No fabricated trust. No invented reviews, no star ratings, no testimonials, no press mentions, no claimed visitor numbers. If you don't see a rating on this site, it is because we don't have one to show you.
- Nothing is copied. The attraction list and every word of the guides are written for this site, not lifted from a booking platform's catalogue.
About the photography
The images on this site are illustrative, computer-generated scenes commissioned for the project, not photographs taken at the locations they accompany. We are replacing them with real photography as we gather it.

We are telling you this because it matters: no page here claims first-hand presence that didn't happen, and no image is ever offered as evidence for a factual claim about how a place looks, how busy it is, or what condition it is in.
How it makes money
This guide is funded by affiliate commission: when readers book tours, tickets and travel services through some of its links, we earn a share, at no extra cost to the reader. That is the entire business model, with no display advertising, no paid placements and no sponsored posts.
Commission does not buy a recommendation, a ranking, or silence about a problem. Where a popular tour is not worth the money, the guide says so, and that is exactly the kind of page commission would argue against.
